Heat loss calculations

Understanding how much energy is needed to keep a building warm at the coldest times of year is a key part of designing and effective and efficient heating system and is particularly important for heat pump system design.

We can carry out calculations to BS EN 12831, to work out the size and numbers of radiators required, and the size of heat pump required.

​

This can be done from a site visit or from construction drawings in collaboration with the installer/system designer who will ultimately be responsible for the overall system design, and the end product.

Heat loss calculations can also be a useful way of exploring the way a building works and deciding on which areas should be a priority during retrofit planning.
